A natural sapphire of irregular shape, set in a bezel on a molten sterling silver band. The band is made by melting down recycled silver in a charcoal block and shaping it by hand, with the marks of the casting kept rather than polished out.
The stone has a deep blue colour and a slightly uneven outline, which is exactly why it caught my eye. The bezel has been shaped around the stone so the setting follows its natural form rather than forcing it into something more regular.
A one-off piece in UK size M. Because the stone is bezel-set and the band is molten, the ring can't easily be resized, so this one is for someone whose size is M.
