The Studio

I'm Alice, and Almari is my small jewellery studio in Dorset. I make everything by hand from start to finish, mostly in sterling silver, mostly molten or hand-carved.

The Practice

I trained as a fine artist and designer, and Almari is where that practice now lives. The work moves between sketching, carving wax, melting silver in a charcoal block, and finishing pieces by hand at the bench. I love the marks and small surprises that come out of all of that. Nothing here is trying to look perfect. The lumps, the soft edges, and the places where the silver decides for itself are really the whole of the work.

Made Slowly

Some pieces are made to order, some are one-offs that won't be made again. Because there's only one pair of hands, orders move slowly and that's part of how it works. Each piece is taken from raw silver to finished necklace, ring or pair of earrings in the same studio, over the course of a few weeks, and every piece comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Bespoke

Almari is an artistic practice that happens to be for sale. Bespoke commissions are always welcome, and the stranger the idea the better, since experimentation is the bit I love most and I'll always have a go at making your idea work.
