A wide molten silver band with a tiny natural ruby set into the surface, flush with the silver. The band is made by melting recycled sterling silver in a charcoal block and shaping it by hand, with the marks of the casting kept rather than polished out.

The ruby is small and bright, set carefully into a small hole drilled in the band and burnished in place so it sits level with the surface. A flush setting like this lets the stone catch the light without standing proud of the silver, which keeps the overall feel quiet rather than showy.

About the ruby

A natural ruby, sourced from Thailand, Myanmar, or Mozambique depending on availability. The stone you receive will be selected at the time of making, so it may differ slightly from the one pictured in colour, shape, or character. Each one is a real ruby and chosen with care.

Made to order in roughly three to four weeks, in any size. Because the stone is flush-set into the band, the ring can't be resized after it's made, so please make sure your size is correct before ordering.

Made to Order FAQ

How long will my piece take?

Each piece is made individually from sterling silver, which takes around three to four weeks. I'll be in touch when it's ready to be sent.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

The design will be the same, but because each piece is made by hand using techniques like molten casting and hand-carving, yours will have its own marks and small surprises. The photo is a guide rather than an exact match, and the natural variation is part of the work.

Can my piece be returned?

Made to order pieces are made specifically for you, so they can't be returned once the work has started. If you're unsure about sizing, style, or anything else before ordering, just send a message and we'll sort it out together. Every piece also comes with a lifetime guarantee, so any repairs or adjustments later on are covered.

How do I find my ring size?

The most reliable way is to visit a jeweller who can measure your finger properly. If you'd rather measure at home, you can use a printed ring sizer, or measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear.

Can I make changes to the design?

Small adjustments are usually possible (a slightly thicker band, a different stone, a different length of chain) and I'm happy to discuss them. For larger changes, the bespoke page is a better starting point.
